Patiala/ Chandigarh: In a written release issued on Sunday, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) announced to organise multiple religious functions to commemorate the contribution of martyrs who had laid their lives for the Sikh panth.
SGPC president Kirpal Singh Badungar said to propagate the Sikh religion and connect youth with the Sikh traditions, the committee would organise various events in the memory of Sikh martyrs.
He said the Sikh body was regularly highlighting the influential individuals from the history to laud their contribution in the expansion of Sikh religion among masses and Bhai Mati Dass, Bhai Sati Dass and Bhai Dyala were also worth mentioning names among them.
“To laud the martrydom of Bhai Mati Dass, Bhai Sati Dass and Bhai Dyala, we will orgnaise a religious function at Gurdwara Nanakiana Sahib, Sangrur, on October 5,” Badungar said.
He said the SGPC would also organise religious functions in the memory of Chooraman Kavi Bhai Santokh Singh, Bhai Makhan Shah Lubana and Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanjara.
He said, “We will also organise a Gurmat Samagam at Gurudwara Dukhniwaran Sahib, Patiala, under the Dharam Prachar Lehar on September 25 to propagate Sikh culture among masses.”
