Amritsar, Punjab (November 25, 2013): It is learnt that the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbhandhak Committee (SGPC) has demanded the inclusion of its member in the Film Censor Board for scrutiny of scenes relating to the Sikhs in movies.
SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar reportedly said that such a step would prevent eruption of any controversy during screening of films containing scenes which had the potential to hurt sentiments of the Sikhs.
As per some media report Avtar Singh akkar has written a letter to the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in this regard.
The SGPC head reportedly told some media persons that he wrote the letter in the wake of Sunny Deol starrer Hindi movie “Singh Saab the Great” courting controversy.
