Sikh Body Warns Badals Against Maligning the Concept of Khalistan to garner votes

Chandigarh: The pro freedom group Dal Khalsa on Tuesday (Jan. 31) warned the Badals against maligning the concept of Khalsa Raj and painting it with a negative brush for garnering votes.
Coming down heavily upon the Badal duos and their coterie, the organization pointed out that they won’t allow any politician or political party to ridicule the concept of ‘Khalistan’ as thousands of ‘our bravehearts have sacrificed their lives during the struggle to achieve it’.
It all began when CM Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal accussed the Khalistanis of hobnobbing with Arvind Kejriwal to support AAP in the current elections.

Dal Khalsa president H S Cheema, who was speaking at a religious function at Gharshankar said Badal’s propaganda holds no water as both AAP and pro-freedom groups were ideologically poles apart. He termed Badal’s malicious propaganda as nothing but an attempt to instill fear among the populace.
While vouching for the right to self determination he asserted that at one point of time the majority of the Sikhs stood with the cause including Badal. He reminded Badal Sr. for singing the memorandum seeking right to self determination submitted to UN Secretary General in 1992. However as the Sikh struggle has weakened, opportunists like Badal have betrayed the cause and are now singing peans of their Delhi masters. The “fear tune” is nothing but His Master’s Voice because both Badal and BJP are echoing the same.
” Whether there is an upsurge in the favour of AAP and who is responsible for this is a matter of political debate and one does not have to look far to unearth the faulty policies and wrong doings of Badal Dal, which has deviated from its original mission and objectives”.
Further adding to his statement Harpal Singh Cheema said that “we are not concerned who wins the elections and becomes the face of Punjab after March 11. However, we certainly wish that all those including the Badals who are responsible for sacrilege, alarming level of drug menace, denigration of religious institutions and providing immunity to the police officers responsible for the deaths of two Sikh protesters at Behbal Kalan, should be taught a lesson.”
