SikhRI Announces the release of eWorkbook – Gurbāṇī Language & Grammar

Bridgewater, NJ: Sikh Research Institute (SikhRI) has announced the release of its much awaited eWorkbook – Gurbāṇī Language & Grammar.
The Workbook is a great resource for students of Gurbāṇī. It provides them an opportunity to apply their understanding of the language, grammar and theological principles of the Gurū Granth Sāhib via a series of quizzes and exercises.
The Workbook arose from the need of readers of the textbook Gurū Granth Sāhib – Its Language and Grammar. Through the book they can practice their specific Gurbāṇī skills, as well as consolidate their knowledge of the vocabulary, principles and ideas contained in Gurbāṇī at large.

The Workbook has thirty-six lessons. Each lesson is divided into two parts, a quiz and an exercise. The quizzes enable students to test their understanding of the content from respective lessons in the textbook. The exercises offer additional opportunity to develop a general grasp of Gurbāṇī, such as its theological principles, vocabulary, pronunciation and transcription skills.
Manpreet Singh, Director at Barclays Investment Bank and a Sidak alumni, says: “The Sidak Gurmukhi 101 Programme has for a number of years provided hundreds of students with a platform to build, develop and enhance their understanding of Gurbani. With the release of this outstanding piece of work, these resources have been opened up to all those with an interest in engaging with the language of the Guru Granth Sahib. Through a rigorous and comprehensive set of exercises, the Workbook enables independent students of Gurbani to apply their knowledge and consequently build a deep understanding of grammar, vocabulary and theology.”
