Tarn Taran, Punjab: Sikh Sangat in large numbers and representatives of various Sikh bodies today gathered at village Jodhpur near Tarn Taran where a saroop of Guru Granth Sahib was burnt on December 01. Sikh gathering served an ultimatum to the Punjab government, civil administration and the Police to ban the activities and seal the various Deras of Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan across Punjab by December 12.
Sikh organizations have called the next gathering of the Sikhs at Jodhpur on December 12 to discuss the further program of action.
Sikh sangat held Akhand Paath Sahib of Guru Granth Sahib and Bhog was attended by SGPC President Avtar Singh Makkar, Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh, Takht Damdama Sahib Jathedar Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh, Takhat Keshgarh Sahib Jathedar Giani Malh Singh and leaders of various religious bodies.
The Sikh sangat repeatedly commenced a series of the five Akhand Paath Sahib at Jodhpur village.
There are reports that activists of various Sikh bodies protested against SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar while accusing the SGPC for failure to ensure action against anti-Sikh deras.
