Chandigarh: As per a brief update by Punjabi newspaper Daily Ajit, Punjab’s Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal has order withdrawal of all cases registered against Sikhs for holding demonstrations demanding action against culprits of sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib. Punjab have registered a number of cases against protesting Sikhs during last few days.
According to Ajit Daily, Deputy CM has ordered the police to withdraw all the cases.
Notably the police had registered a case against 15 Sikh pracharks, including Bhai Panthpreet Singh, Bhai Ranjit Sindh Dhadrian, Giani Kewal Singh, besides many unidentified Sikhs at Kotkapura police station in relation to dharna at Kotkapura Chowk. The Sikh pracharaks were booked under alleged attempt to murder (section 307 IPC) (Check FIR). The police have also booked many Sikhs in relation to a dharna at village Buttar on Moga-Barnala Road.
