Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab (December 20, 2013): The Sikh Youth of Punjab (SYP) has demanded an inquiry by sitting judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court to look into Jagdish Bhola’s confession that three Punjab cabinet ministers were involved in the drug racket.
Manjit Singh, who is general secretary of youth wing of Dal Khalsa, in a statement said the drug menace has engulfed the youth of the state. Now, when an arrested drug-lord has confessed that certain politicians were running the drug racket in the state from behind the scenes, let the Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal to show magnanimity and recommend the inquiry into the allegations by sitting judge of the High Court.
“The people of Punjab know in their guts that the drug business in the state could not flourish without the close nexus of politicians-police-smugglers troika. However, they would like to see the faces of the real culprits, who were into this business. It’s ironic that those politicians who have pledge to serve the people, were in fact ruining the lives of the young boys and girls”.
Pertinently, Bhola is on record saying that he was willing to disclose the names of all three ministers if a CBI probe is conducted into the matter.
