Personification of Sikh Gurus through human actor or depiction through Animation, portraits or computer graphics is equally prohibited

Makers of the Nanak Shah Fakir movie are taking a plea that they did not violate Sikh tenets as Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Ji was depicted in Nanak Shah Fakir movie through computer graphics and no human actor has played the role of Guru Nanak ji in this movie.

The debate surrounding depiction of Sikh Gurus is in focus again, especially in wake of controversy over upcoming movie Nanak Shah Fakir. Nanak Shah Fakir is a movie by Harinder Sikka who claims that the movie depicts the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Ji. The SGPC has already rejected this movie as it violates Sikh tenets under which Sikh Guru Sahib can not be depicted as a character of any play or movie etc.

Dr. Sewak Singh to tell students importance of mother language

Malout, Punjab (February 26, 2012): International Mother Language Day is observed on 21 February every year. As per information posted on website of the Sikh Students Federation (SSF), Guru Teg Bahadur Group of Colleges, Chhapianwali, Malout unit of SSF will be organizing a special lecture of Dr. Sewak Singh on 27 February, 2012 to mark the day which signifies the importance of mother language.
