Chandigarh/ Ludhiana (August 26, 2014): According to information available with the Sikh Siyasat News (SSN), the Punjab and Haryana High Court has taken up the petition of Ludhiana resident S. The High Court has fixed 4 November as next date of hearing in this matter.
Amritsar, Punjab (August 22, 2014): Disappointed over the "out of the way" premature release of former police cat turned cop Gurmeet Pinky, Amrik Singh of Ludhiana met Akal Takht Jathedar Gurbachan Singh on August 21. He demanded Giani Gurbachan Singh's intervention in this matter and wanted him to issue directions to the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) asking them to explain their favour for the human rights abuser.
Chandigarh (August 20, 2014) The secret of Gurmeet Pinky's release was unveiled in response to an application under Right to Information Act. The application was moved by victim Avtar Singh @ Gola's father S. Amrik Singh.
Ludhaina, Punjab (August 20, 2014): “Though he was able to get mercy for himself from the Punjab government, he had showed no mercy while shooting our innocent son”, said parents of Avtar Singh Gola, after hearing news of premature release of infamous cop Gurmeet Singh Pinky. The Ludhiana couple whose only son was killed by police cat turned cop, Gurmeet Pinky, expressed disappointment over early release of killer of their son.
Terming it as a mockery of justice, the Dal Khalsa chief H S Dhami has strongly condemned the pre-mature release of infamous renegade and human rights violator Gurmit Singh Pinki from Nabha jail. In a strong worded statement, he said it’s ironic that a killer of innocent Sikh boy Avtar Singh has been set free after remitting his remaining sentence while those convicts who have served 20 years are still languishing in jails courtesy the Badals.
