Los Angeles: As per a WSN report dated January 6, 2010, Seventy representatives of the 12 Metropolitan Gurudwaras and Sikh institutions participated in the meeting called by the Coalition over the current Panthic issues about erosion of Sikh ideology.
Chandigarh (January 12, 2010): As per certain media reports a civil suit seeking restraint on the implementation of altered Nanakshahi calendar was filed in district court, Chandigarh by Harmohinder Singh, convener, Punjab unit, Shiromani Akali Dal, Delhi, on Tuesday .
Hoshiarpur (January 06, 2010): Contesting the views expressed by Giani Gurbachan Singh, the Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib that the changes in the Nanakshahi calendar would unite the Sikhs, the Dal Khalsa observed that instead it would further divide the community.
Amritsar (January 04, 2009): In a move that will open a Pandora’s box for the Sikh nation, Giani Gurbachan Singh, the Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib has ratified the decision of the SGPC to dilute the Sikh almanac –the Nanakshahi Calendar.
Ludhiana (January 4, 2010): Equating the act of SGPC and Giani Gurbachan Singh, amending the Nanakshahi Calendar with the decision of excommunicating Giani Gurmukh Singh and ‘honoring’ General Dyre; the Sikh Students Federation today issued an appeal to the Sikh nation to disapprove this act.
Amritsar (January 01, 2010): Various Sikh bodies at home and in Diaspora today join hands to call upon the Akal Takht and the SGPC to convene a Sikh conclave to discuss proposed amendments in the Nanakshahi calendar before Akal Takht puts its stamp on it.
