PUCL Punjab-Haryana has expressed deep concern over the health and well being of Sh. Surat Singh Khalsa who has been on a fast unto death for the last 68 days, and the indifferent and insensitive response of the Punjab government.
New Delhi, India(June 18, 2013): People's Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) has shared a statement by the mother of Ishrat Jehan, a victim of fake encounter. It is notable that the Ishrat Jahan encounter took place on 15 June 2004, and involved encounter killings of four people on an empty road stretch between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in Gujarat state, by the officers of Ahmedabad Police Crime Branch.
