London, UK: The Court of Appeal has reportedly turned down a sentencing application from four Sikhs who were convicted of attacking former Indian Army officer Kuldip Brar. Lieutenant-General Kuldeep Singh Brar, 78, was attacked as he walked with his wife in central London in 2012.

British Sikh School to open in Wolverhampton in September 2015

Wolverhampton, UK: A school for Sikhs is set to open in Wolverhampton as part of a new wave of free schools announced by the government. The British Sikh School is due to open its doors in September next year in Blakenhall, offering education to up to 840 pupils aged 11 to 19. It is one of 35 new free schools across England this week approved by Education Secretary Nicky Morgan - which will create more than 22,000 additional pupil places in the country.

New Sikh free school given go-ahead by Department for Education

London, UK: A new Sikh free school is one step closer to being built in Redbridge after the Department for Education (DfE) approved its application this week. Atam Academy is scheduled to open in September 2015 at primary school level and secondary school pupils will be welcomed a year later.
