United Nations organ confer status of consultative body on Sikh Human Rights Group

Sikh Human Rights Group (SHRG), an international body active since 1985, has gotten status of consultative body of Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of United Nations, revealed by its chairman Dr. Jasdev Singh Rai from UK in a seminar held in Nishan-e-Sikhi auditorium here to introducing the body and its aims and objectives.

Governing Council want Khalsa College Amritsar to be listed as World Heritage on UNESCO’s list

Governing Council of Khalsa College has reportedly appointed a five member committee to dig into the possibilities of getting Khalsa College enlisted in UNESCO heritage list. The five member committee comprises Dr. JS Brar, Dr. Mehal Singh, Dr. JS Dhillon, and DS Rataul lead by Dr. HS Soch (former Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University).

Sikh delegation urged UNESCO to preserve the Hondh Massacre site as Genocidal Site under World Heritage Program

New York (March 10, 2011): A delegation of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) met and apprised Her Excellency Irina Bokova, Director General UNESCO on March 10 in New York about the discovery of “Mass Grave” of Sikhs in Hondh-Chillar, District Rewari, Haryana, India and submitted a written request asking UNESCO to preserve and manage the ruins of Hondh-Chillar as genocidal site under World Heritage Program.
