Trials Set to Resume against Killer Cops of Punjab: SCI vacates stay (2016 Update)

Chandigarh: Trials are all set to resume against alleged killer cops of Punjab. Many senior police officials of Punjab are also facing charges of murder for killing Sikh youth in fake encounters during late 1980s to early 1990s period. The trials in these cases were stayed by the Supreme Court of India for over a decade. But in a recent order the SCI has vacated the stay. Sikh Siyasat talked to human rights lawyer Advocate Rajwinder Singh Bains on this issue.
