The attack took place as Sikhs gathered to commemorate the martyrdom day of the fifth Guru, Guru Arjan. In addition to the Sri Darbar Sahib complex, 38 other gurdwaras across Punjab were also attacked and thousands of innocent Sikh men women and children lost their lives.

Indian Home minister once again cries about attempts to revive militancy in Punjab

New Delhi, India (June 05, 2013): As per media reports Sushil Kumar Shinde, Home Minister of India, said on June 05, 2013 that Pakistan's ISI is trying to revive militancy in Punjab. While addressing the Chief Ministers' conference on internal security in Delhi, Shinde reportedly said: “Punjab militancy threat growing again. Sikh youths being trained by ISI (Inter Services Intelligence) facilities in Pakistan. Sikh youths in US, Europe are also being motivated in this regard”.
