Tarn Taran/ Amritsar, Punjab (March 13, 2013): It is learnt that on March 12, 2013 two Punjab police cops were booked and arrested on the charge of assault and molestation, as they had beaten up a Dalit girl on March 7, 2013 who had approached them for help after being sexually assaulted.
Patiala/Sunam, Punjab (March 12, 2013): Tejinder Singh Billu, a Punjab level footballer, was abducted and tortured by Punjab police about 20 years ago, in 1993. He was 29 years old at that time. Punjab police subjected to enforced disappearance and there were no whereabouts of Tejinder Singh till date.

Patiala, Punjab (March 12, 2103): It is learnt that the special court of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) here on March 11, 2013 sentenced Amritsar (rural) senior superintendent of police (SSP) Preetpal Singh Virk to 10-year rigorous imprisonment after finding him, along with other cops, guilty of illegal confinement and "kidnapping in order to murder" of a Punjab-level footballer in 1993.

Amritsar, Punjab (March 10, 2013): In a press statement sent to Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) the All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) President Karnail Singh Peermohammad has criticized Indian government for confining Sikh prisoner Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara in a jail cell where Kashmiri youth Afzal Guru was confined before execution. Afzal Guru was reportedly executed by India on February 09, 2013 outside his cell.

Patiala, Punjab (March 08, 2013): Patiala Jail superintendent Bhupinder Singh Virk reportedly wrote on March 07, 2013 to Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gurpreet Singh Gill to provide additional security for Patiala Central Jail in the wake of 'rumours' that Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana, who is on a death row and is lodged in Patiala jail, being shifted to New Delhi.
