Bhag Milkha Bhag banned in Pakistan over dialogue on 1947 partition

Mumbai, India (July 11, 2013): It is learnt that Pakistan has banned upcoming movie ‘Bhag Milkha Bhag’; a film reportedly based on the life of an Indian athlete named Milkha Singh, who is known as ‘flying Sikh’. According to a news reported by a Punjabi vernacular Farhan Akhtar has played the lead role as Milkha Singh in this movie.

Amritsar (July 11, 2013): All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) has declared to initiate criminal proceedings against former Punjab DGP KPS Gill and Sub Inspector (SI) Surjit Singh for killing innocent Sikhs in “fake encounters” during 1990s.

This case was registered against Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu in September 2012 by Ludhiana police.

The movie's plot was based in the events of 1980s-90s in Punjab and it was twice banned in India; firstly by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and then by state governments of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and the administration of Chandigarh.

He said that he eliminated 83 people in fake encounters at the directions of his superior police officer.
