Moga, Punjab (November 26, 2013): It is learnt that the situation at village Dhudike (district Moga) took serious turn after Dera Sauda Sirsa followers attempted to hold a gathering despite opposition from the local Sikhs. It is notable that the Sikh sangat is opposing the dera sauda activities since 2007 in accordance with directive issued by Akal Takht Sahib in wake of anti-Sikh activities of the Dera Sauda Sirsa (DSS) chief.
Amritsar, Punjab (November 26, 2013): It is learnt that a Jatha of Sikh women visited Akal Takht Sahib on November 25, 2013 to tender a memorandum to Jathedar Akal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh seeking his help to secure release certain Sikh prisoners who were not released by India despite serving full term of their sentences. As per reports Giani Gurbachan Singh was not available to receive the memorandum in person. The memorandum was received by S. Bhupinder Singh Sarpanch on behalf of Giani Gurbachan Singh.
Toronto, Ontario (November 26, 2013): According to a news reported by Sikh24.Com, an online Sikh news portal, Professor Uday Singh of Toronto (Canada) passed away this past Friday, November 22nd after having suffered a heart attack a few days earlier. Professor Uday Singh was well known in the Toronto area for his dedication to teaching children Gurmukhi and Gurmat.
