Amritsar, Punjab (December 19, 2013): Upset over the deaf silence of the Government in redressing the prisoners issue and apprehensive of life of Gurbaksh Singh whose health is deteriorating rapidly, the Dal Khalsa has knocked the doors of Amnesty International urging it to intervene without delay.

Bhai Gurbaksh Singh is on continuous hunger strike since November 14, 2013 seeking release of six Sikh political prisoners languishing in various jails in India even after completing the terms of their sentences.

Chandigarh/ Mohali (December 19, 2013): Deccan Herald has reported that the demand for the release of Sikh prisoner Gurdeep Singh Khera lodged in the Gulbarga central jail in Karnataka for the last 23-years is garnering support from various quarters in Punjab who are strongly backing the indefinite hunger strike initiated by Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa in protest of the incarceration of the Sikhs.
