Dal Khalsa condemns Indian government for not supporting UN resolution against Sri Lanka

Hoshiarpur, Punjab (March 29, 2014): Sikh body, Dal Khalsa, on Friday criticized the Indian government for not supporting the US backed UN resolution seeking credible, independent and international probe into war crimes and human rights abuses in Sri Lanka.

SGPC passes Rs 905-cr budget for 2014-15, 99 crores higher than previous year

Amritsar, Punjab (March 28, 2014): The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) passed it's annual budget of Rs 905 crore for the 2014-15 fiscal year, which is Rs 99 crore more than it's last year’s budget.

Prof. Bhullar’s case: Centre admits ‘inordinate delay’; Says Death sentence has to be commuted

New Delhi, India (March 27, 2014): The Supreme Court of India (SCI) today held hearing of commutation plea of Sikh political prisoner Professor Devender Pal Singh Bhullar, who has been on death row in India since 2001. The petition was moved by Professor Bhullar's wife after January 21 decision of the the Supreme Court of India commuting 15 death sentences to life imprisonments mainly on the ground of undue delay in execution caused by inordinate delay deciding the constitutional review petitions by the the President of India.

I wonder if you’ve noticed how carefully Rahul Gandhi answered a question put to him by PTI last Sunday? Asked why he had hesitated to apologise for the 1984 Sikh killings in his Times Now interview, he replied: “The prime minister of the UPA has apologised and the president of Congress party expressed regrets. I share their sentiments completely.”
