September 3, 2014 | By

Karnal, Haryana (September 03, 2014): Caught into controversy over reports of demanding Haryana assembly tickets from the Congress party, newly formed Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC – ad hoc) has denied the charges. HSGMC (ad hoc) senior vice-president Didar Singh Nalvi has claimed that the committee (HSGMC) had not sought tickets for the Assembly elections for any of its members

“Some unathourised persons have been demanding tickets from the Congress and using the HSGMC’s name for their vested interests. The demand stands valid if the committee passes a resolution or all members build a consensus on the issue. But nothing of the sort has happened,” Didar Singh Nalvi reportedly said.

According to media reports Amarinder Singh Arora, who claims to be HSGMC’s youth wing leader from Karnal, and his supporters have demanded 15 Assembly tickets from the Congress.

Mains leaders of HSGMC (ad hoc) have distanced themselves from persons making the demand. He, though, has made it clear that the HSGMC would support the Congress in the elections, a payback gesture for forming a separate Gurdwara body for Haryana. HSGMC leaders further said that they had no other choice than supporting the Congress party in assembly elections, as other parties have declared that they would anull the state legislation under which HSGMC came into existence.
