Panchkula, Haryana: RSS-man Manohar Lal Khattar became Haryana's first chief minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as he took oath at a ceremony held at Panchkula on Sunday. Khattar is the 10th chief minister of the state, which was created November 1, 1966.

Ambala, Haryana: Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) joint candidate Balvinder Singh lasted at fourth place from Ambala City assembly seat. BJP candidate Aseem Goel won Ambala City seat with 60216 votes. Haryana Jan Chetna Party (V) candidate Venod Sharma positioned second with 35964 votes.
