Khadoor Sahib/Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), led by Badal dynasty, has fielded former SGPC chief Bibi Jagir Kaur as its candidate for Lok Sabha elections from the Khadoor Sahib constituency. The seat was represented by Ranjeet Singh Brahampura, who along with Rattan Singh Ajanala and Sewa Singh Sekhwan had parted away from the Badals party to float a separate faction called SAD (Taksali).
As SAD (Taksali) has fielded ex-Indian army chief Gen. JJ Singh from Khadoor Sahib, SAD (B) president Sukhbir Singh Badal dared Ranjeet Singh Brahampura to contest from this constituency and face Bibi Jagir Kaur in the election himself.
Punjab Democratic Alliance, a combine of 6 parties, has fielded Bibi Paramjeet Kaur Khalra from Khandoor Sahib constituency.
United Akali Dal president Mohkam Singh is candidate of Bargari Insaaf Morcha for the poll run-up for this seat.
