Assault on Brar in London: 12 arrested, Identities not revealed yet

London/Punjab (October 10, 2012): According to media reports the police in United Kingom has arrested 12 persons, including 2 women, in furtherance of their investigations into incident of attack on former Indian army officer Kuldip Brar outside a hotel in London last Sunday. Kuldip Brar had led armed invasion of various Sikh Gurudwaras in June 1984, including Sri Darbar Sahib in Amritsar. Thousands, mostly innocent pilgrims were killed in this attack and Indian army used Tanks to destroy the building of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, eternal symbol of Sikh sovereignty.

According to news reports Kuldip Brar has arrived in India and Indian intelligence agencies have carried extensive review as regards security of former Lt. Gen. of Indian Army, who lives in a high security house in Mumbai, in wake recent incident of attack.

According to reports the U.K. police has released information that a 42 years old man and a 38 years old woman were arrested at a residential address in Hillingdon Borough. The man was held on suspicion of assisting an offender and the woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy.

A further three men, aged 42, 37 and 30 respectively, were arrested after a short while on the street on Queensdale Road, in Kensington and Chelsea Borough, on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

Another three, aged 32, 31 and 20 respectively, were held at a residential address in Holland Park after a few hours. Two of them were arrested on conspiracy to murder while the third one was held on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Meanwhile, Indian authorities are trying to blame Sikh circles advocating establishment of Sovereign Sikh state for the attack on Kuldip Brar.

Indian authorities and Congress party politicians of Punjab are using the incident to raise objections to the construction of “June 1984 Martyrs’ Memorial” that is being built by the Sikh nation within the precincts of Darbar Sahib, Amritsar.
