AGPC Condemns Indian Government and Hindu American Foundation’s Misinformation Campaign Against Sikh Americans

January 9, 2024 | By

New York: In a recent statement the American Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has criticized the Indian Government and the Hindu American Foundation for their alleged propaganda campaign targeting the American Sikh community.

“The AGPC vehemently denounces the systematic and malicious attempts by the Indian government, its state-controlled media, and proxies such as the Hindu American Foundation to malign Sikh activists with baseless allegations regarding recent acts of vandalism at Hindu temples and other incidents globally”, reads a statement by AGPC.

“This insidious campaign, steeped in misinformation, is a blatant effort to disrupt the fabric of American society and fracture the unity within our diverse communities”, reads the statement.

“We highlight the dangerous implications of such unfounded accusations, which not only harm Sikh-Hindu relations but also threaten the principles upon which our nation is built. The trend of these allegations, coupled with the suspicious lack of evidence such as CCTV footage, is alarming. Australia’s Queensland State Police released documents suggesting possible Hindu involvement in similar vandalism cases. In light of the upcoming Khalistan referendum in San Francisco, it is imperative for the Sikh community and all Americans to recognize and counter these divisive tactics”, said Dr. Pritpal Singh.

“We must stand united against such attempts to erode our societal harmony and mutual respect. The AGPC is resolute in its commitment to fostering understanding, upholding justice, and protecting the rights of all individuals to express their views peacefully. We call upon law enforcement agencies, community leaders, and all faith groups to join us in this endeavor, ensuring that truth prevails over falsehood, and unity over division. We urge anyone with information on these incidents to fulfill their civic duty by contacting the FBI at 1-800 CALL FBI. It is through our collective vigilance and action that we can safeguard our cherished values and maintain the integrity of our diverse and vibrant society”, the statement reads further.
