New Delhi/Chandigarh: Arvind Kejirwal led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi government’s Sentence Review Board (SRB) has rejected the case of premature release of Sikh political prisoner Prof. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar.

“As per brief document of Delhi government’s Sentence Review Board updated online today, it is stated that the case of premature release of Prof. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar is rejected in a meeting of the SRB”, said Advo. Manjhpur.

Case Rejected Despite Favorable Reports:

Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur told Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) that the reports of Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar, Police commissioner of Amritsar, Jail Superintendent of Central Jail Amritsar were in favor of Prof. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar and even Bhagwant Mann led Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab had recommended his case of premature release.

It is noteworthy that the Union Government of India has already given its concurrence for granting premature release to Prof. DPS Bhullar.

“The SRB of Delhi government seems to have turned blind eye on reports of relevant authorities and recommendation and concurrence of Punjab and Central government respectively” said Advo. Jaspal Singh Manjhpur.

“We have already filed a writ petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court in which the court had directed Delhi SRB to take a decision on Prof. Bhullar’s case. After reviewing the rejection order and related documents, we shall take decision on seeking premature release order for Prof. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar from the court”, he added.
