Sikh Sangat Held “Shaheedi Samagam” at Panjwar; Book Kaurnama Released

Tarn Taran, Punjab: On 6 May, the the Sikh sangat and Panthic jathas and Sikh organizations convened in a solemn Shaheedi Samagam to commemorate the life and sacrifice of Shaheed Paramjit Singh Panjwar, the former chief of the Khalistan Commando Force (KCF)The event took place at Gurdwara Shaheedan village Panjwar, district Tarn Taran, where devotees gathered to pay homage to the revered martyr who was assassinated on 6 May 2023 in Pakistan, where he lived in exile.

During the poignant gathering, esteemed Panthic personalities, including Panth Sewak Bhai Daljit Singh, Bhai Satnam Singh Khandewala, Bhai Rajinder Singh Mughalwal, Bhai Hardeep Singh Mehraj, Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema, and family members of Bhai Panjwar, unveiled a significant literary work titledKaurnama: Saga of Shaheed Women of Kharkoo Sangharsh”. Authored by Baljinder Singh Kotbhara under the mentorship of Bhai Daljit Singh, the book is the brainchild of Shaheed Bhai Paramjit Singh Panjwar. It comprises brief biographies of Sikh women who attained Shaheedi during the Sikh freedom movement in the 1980s-1990s.

Global Tributes and Calls for Installing Portraits:
Messages of tribute poured in from Sikh diaspora organizations and Gurdwara management committees across Germany, France, Belgium, Greece, England, and the USA. They paid their respects to Bhai Panjwar and called upon Giani Raghbir Singh and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to install a portrait of Bhai Paramjit Singh at the Central Sikh Museum situated at Darbar Sahib Amritsar.

Panthic Personalities Pay Homage
The Shaheedi Samagam witnessed the presence of prominent Sikh and Panthic figures, including Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra (Khalsa Mission Organisation), Bhai Mandhir Singh (Panth Sewak Jatha Doaba), Bhai Sukhjeet Singh Khosa, S. Sukhraj Singh Niamiwala, Bhai Karamjit Singh Sunam, Bhai Sukhdev Singh Doad, and Bhai Harpal Singh Cheema. Each paid heartfelt tributes to Bhai Panjwar, honoring his legacy of sacrifice and devotion to the Sikh cause.
