Chandigarh: The Member of Indian Parliament in Rajya Sabha and ruling Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy has said that somebody in the bureaucracy is accountable for the Monday (10 July) attack on Amarnath Yatra 2017 as they had prior information and warning as well as early as 25th June.
Since the Govt had prior information and warning as early as June 25th, somebody in the bureaucracy is accountable! Who? PTs can guess?

The BJP Rajya Sabha member of Parliament is referring to a letter sent by J & K inspector general of police Muneer Khan to the Army, the CRPF, and range deputy inspector generals in the state, which PTI news agency reported about on June 27.
Muneer Khan reportedly said in the letter that the “possibility of a sensational attack … cannot be ruled out”, the news agency said.
The opposition Congress on Tuesday also asked the same question as Swamy did, notes Times of India (ToI). Congress asked why the Centre and the J&K government took no measures to keep the Amarnath pilgrims safe when they had intelligence inputs as early as on June 25th that an attack on them was imminent.
Notably seven Amarnath Yatris were killed while 19 others, including three policemen, were injured after gunmen attacked a Yatri bus and a police party in Anantnag along the Jammu-Srinagar Highway in south Kashmir on Monday.
News reports quoted J&K police IG saying that security forces and not the yatris were target of the attackers.
Aljazeera reported that some police officers speaking to news agencies on condition to anonymity said that the vehicle was caught up in the ‘cross firing’.
