Amritsar (October 01, 2010): The Dal Khalsa has termed the verdict on Mandir-Masjid controversy as motivated by reasons other than legal. Dal Khalsa head H S Dhami and spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh on Friday hit out at the judgment in the age-old Ayodhya dispute, saying it was hardly based on legalities. It’s in no way a judicial verdict, they remarked. The verdict was based on all-appease formula keeping in view the sentiments of the peoples’ concerned, said they.
“We are disappointed with the verdict and will not be surprised if it creates more complications rather than solving the dispute”. They said “the verdict had hurt the sentiments of millions of Muslims as they feel that justice has been denied to them”. However, they admitted that the verdict has acted like a deterrent to the violence, which everyone had feared in its aftermath.
