Badal, Captain not tabled Bhullar’s resolution due to fear of loss of Hindu votes, says Dal Khalsa

Hoshiarpur  (October 10,2011): Dal Khalsa slams both Akali Dal and Congress for utterly failing to bring the resolution in the recently concluded session of the assembly for commutation of death penalty to life imprisonment for Prof Davinder Pal Singh Bhullar.
The office bearers of the radical group who were in the city to attend the monthly meet here today lashed out at both Parkash Singh Badal and Captain Amarinder Singh for scuttling the resolution by indulging in shadow-boxing.
Interacting with media, party spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said Badal has not tabled Bhullar’s resolution due to fear of loss of non-Sikh (Hindu) votes, while Captain has proven that he cannot take up any matter of Punjab interest differently from their central party (Congress) approach. “On both– Sehajdhari and Bhullar issues, he (Captain) seems to be a confused person”.
To a question on withdrawal of draconian laws, they felt that Sukhbir had played a smart game as he knows in his guts that if SAD fails to return to power, his party would be first to face the brunt of these laws. “Better sense has prevailed as Akalis have withdrawn Punjab Special Security Group Bill, 2010 which gives impunity to police force similar to those of the AFSPA”, said the statement.
Meanwhile, party president Harchranjit Singh Dhami opined that SAD and Congress had only put up a false display of fight to root out corruption from the state. He said, “Parkash Singh Badal and Captain Amrinder Singh both were trading charges against each other trying to prove that other was more corrupt”.
Referring to the US cable report released by Wikileaks, he said this time again the choice before the electorate in the ensuing assembly polls would be between a “party of thieves” and a “party of bigger thieves”.
He said Badal was supporting Anna Hazare not because he was against corruption but because he wants to take political benefit out of the euphoria Anna’s anti-graft campaign has created all over the country. “Badal aims to ride on the Anna’s wave to defeat Congress”.
Beside party’s general secretary Dr Manjinder Singh, senior office bearers of youth body ‘Sikh Youth of Punjab’ (SYP) including Ranbir Singh, Gurprit Singh Mann, Prabhjot Singh also attended the meet.
