New Delhi/ Chandigarh: Cricketer Yuvraj Singh may campaign for the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in Haryana for the Assembly elections. He reportedly met BJP President Amit Shah at the party headquarters in Delhi on Friday (Sept. 12).
There is speculations in media that Yuvraj was in run to secure a BJP ticket for his father Yograj Singh. Notably Yograj had unsuccessfully contested 2009 assembly election from Panchkula Assembly on as an Indian National Lok Dal (INDL)’s ticket.
“Nothing has been decided yet. The next list is expected on September 14 and 15. If Yuvraj wants to contest, our doors are open. If his father gets a ticket, he will campaign for the BJP in Haryana,” The Tribune quotes an unnamed BJP leader as saying.
However Yuvraj Singh has denied any possibility of a political career with the BJP.
