Mansa (January 21, 2011): Bhai Mandhir Singh, Former President of Sikh Students Federation, was today transferred to Bathinda Jail as Chief Judicial Magistrate (Mansa) D. M. Singla refused to extend his police remand and sent him under judicial custody for 14 days. 02 February is fixed as next date of hearing.

Mandhir Singh, a senior leader of Youth Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani), is framed in dera follower Lilli Kumar’s Murder case. Today S.H.O Sulakhan Singh and Harpal Singh of Mansa police brought Mandhir Singh before the court and urged the court to grant his police remand for more days.

He informed that court that this was nothing but harassment proceedings as Mandhir Singh had nothing to do with this case. He has been falsely implicated. Advocate Bhangu further informed that charge-sheet filed by the police did not even mention the name of Mandhir Singh. He further informed the court that Mandhir Singh is a well educated Sikh youth, holding engineering as well as religious studies degrees.
