Kurukshetra: As per the media reports emanating from Haryana the 28 excutive member of the Haryana Sikh Gurdawara Management Committee (HSHPC) has here on Sunday dislodged its serving Chief Jagdish Singh Jinda from his post and instead appointed Didar Singh Nalvi has acting president of the Sikh body.

The decision of the Sikh body came close to the heel when Jagdish Singh Jinda was declared Tankhaiya last week when he appeared before Shri Akal Takhat Sahib, for clarifying his  position on the issue of being excommunicated from the Sikh Panth two years ago for forming a separate gurdwara management body for the Sikhs of Haryana. It was acting jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal who has proposed his name for the removal from the post, as he himself happens to be a member of HSGMC. Seventeen members were present at the meeting and 11 members extended their support to Nalvi over mobile phone.

While interacting with the media Didar Singh Nalvi stated that  “The executive committee has appointed me as the HSGMC president till May 7, when the next meeting of the general body will be held to appoint the president, vice-president and other office-bearers. Till then, I will take care of the HSGMC bank accounts and operations.” Jhinda has no right to call any meeting and take decision related to HSGMC, he further added.

The action came after Jhinda appeared before the Akal Takht a few days ago and apologised for getting the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Act, 2014, passed in the state assembly. “Jhinda had joined the enemy’s camp and has backstabbed the Sikhs of Haryana,” Didar Singh Nalvi was quoted saying by an English vernacular in its report.

Jagdish Singh Jinda was not available for his comments on this latest development, but the media sources indicated that as the HSGMC was enacted lawfully under 2014 act passed by the outgoing Bhupinder Singh Hooda lead Congress government so his removal stands to be illegal.
