NIA Gets Police Remand of Bagga-Shera for 2 Days; Jagtar Singh Jaggi to be presented before NIA court tomorrow

Mohali: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India today presented Ramandeep Singh Bagga and Hardeep Singh Shera before NIA special court in Mohali in case RC-23/2017/NIA/DLI . This case pertains to killing of two followers of Dera Sauda Sirsa in Nanakpur Jageda village in district Ludhiana (PS Mallaud).
Defence council Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur said that the NIA had demanded 12 days police remand in this case that was oppose on the ground that Babba and Shera in the police custody since Nov. 7 and 11 respectively. After hearing both sides the Special NIA court of Additional Sessions Judge I Ms. Anshul Berry granted their police remand for 3 days.

Ramandeep Singh and Hardeep Singh were in the custody of the Punjab police from Dec. 15 in this case (FIR No. 13/17 dated: 26/02/17 u/s 302, 34 IPC and sections 10, 12, 13 UAPA, PS Mallaud) but now the NIA has arrested them in this case as the case is transferred to this agency. Earlier the NIA had arrested them in case RC-18/2017/NIA/DLI which pertained to the killing of RSS leader Ravinder Gosain in Ludhiana.

Meanwhile, the Taljit Singh @ Jimmy Singh was today sent to judicial custody by a local magistrate in Khanna. He was on police remand in a case related to the killing of Durga Prasad.
It is learnt the the NIA will tomorrow present UK citizen Jagtar Singh Johal at Mohali in case RC-23/2017/NIA/DLI which pertains to the killing of Hindu leader Durga Prasad in Khanna.
