Amritsar, March 27: Dal Khalsa has expressed condolence over the demise of Sham Singh, the president of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (PSGPC). He died in Lahore early morning and was cremated at Nanakana Sahib this afternoon.
PSGPC was formed on April 11, 1999, to mark the tercentenary celebrations of the birth of Khalsa Panth by the then President of Pakistan with Sham Singh as its first head.
Party spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said he would always be remembered and respected for his contribution and services towards the renovation of gurdwaras and social upliftment of Pak Sikhs. He always stood with Panth and followed Sikh Rehat maryada. His principle stand for sticking to original Nanakshahi calendar was remarkable. We pay respect to him and pray before Waheguru to grant peace to departed soul.
