Ludhiana: Arrested U. K. citizen Jagtar Singh Jaggi was today presented before the court of local JMIC in FIR no. 7/16 (PS Division no. 2, Ludhiana) as his police remand had expired. The court extended his police remand for 1 more day. Notably, the case FIR no. 7/16 (PS Division no. 2, Ludhiana) pertains to incident of firing at Kidwai Nagar Shakha of Hindutva outfit RSS.
The Ludhiana police also presented Taljit Singh @ Jimmy Singh before the court of a local JMIC in FIR No. 218/17 (PS Salem Tabri) case, which pertains to the killing of pastor Sultan Masih. The police demanded five days police remand but it was denied by the court and he was committed to judicial custody.
Later the police arrested Jimmy Singh in FIR no. 7/16 (PS Division no. 2, Ludhiana) case. The court sent Jimmy Singh on police remand of 2 days in this case.
Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur appeared as defence council for both Jagtar Singh Jaggi and Taljit Singh @ Jimmy Singh in these cases.
UPDATE: On December 5, 2017 the court further extended the police remand of Jagtar Singh Jaggi for 1 more day. (Updated on Dec. 5, 2017)
