Chandigarh: The Punjab police today claimed that the cases related to killing of Christian pastor Sultan Masih and two followers of Dera Sauda Sirsa were also solved with recent arrests. The police had yesterday claimed to have solved the cases related to killings of RSS leaders Jagdish Gagneja and Ravinder Gosain. In a written release (copy available with Sikh Siyasat News) the police also claimed that with these recents arrested the case related to killing of Amit Sharma is also solved.
Amit Sharma was killed in February 2016, Jagdish Gagneja was killed in August 2016, Dera follower Satpal Kumar and his son were killed in February 2017, Sultan Masih was killed in July 2017 and Ravinder Gosain was shot dead in Ocotber 2016.
Yesterday the Punjab police chief and Punjab CM Amarinder Singh had withheld the identity of fourth persons arrested by the police but today his identity was revealed as Ramadeep Singh (28), a resident of Chuharwal, PS Maherban, Ludhiana.
The state police chief claimed that the police had “enough forensic and ballistic evidence” to link the arrested persons to these cases, adding that same kind of weapons were used in all the cases.
The Punjab police reclaimed today that the killings were executed at the behest of Pakistan’s secret service called ISI and some leaders of the Khalistan Liberation Force, who have allegedly taken refuge in Pakistan. It said that the killings were “aimed at destabilising” the state of Punjab.
According to the press release issued by Information and Public Relations Department (Punjab), the state DGP Suresh Arora, who visited Moga this morning, along with DGP intelligence, Dinkar Gupta, said that Ramandeep had made several other sensational disclosures.
During his visit, the DGP met the Punjab police team, comprising IG Intelligence Amit Prasad, DIG Counter-Intelligence Ranbir Khatra, SSP Moga Ranjit Singh, SSP Batala Opinderjit Ghuman, SP Rajinder Singh, SP Wazir Singh, DSPs Sulakhan Singh and Sarabjit Singh, Inspector CIA Moga Kikar Singh and ASI Haripal and reportedly congratulated them on Chief Minister Amarinder Singh’s behalf.
