The students have announced to hold a commemoration to mark the 33th anniversary of the heinous genocide in which thousands of innocent Sikhs were reduced to ashes throughout India in November 1984.
An announcement issued for the PU students in this regard, over social media reads: “The November 1984 genocide of Sikhs in the Indian capital of Delhi and other major cities on the directions of the then Indian State is one scary episode in the history that can never be forgotten. Remembering the genocide becomes even more important when the perpetrators of the massacre are not punished or even held guilty. Forgetting such vicious acts lays the foundation for the next genocide and the motives of those who are asking to forget this episode can be understood very well from it”.
