April 26, 2013 | By

New Delhi, India (April 26, 2013): It seems as if Kuljinder Sidhu was right when he maintained during a radio interview that Punjabi movie Sadda Haq had it’s own destiny and he was confident that it (the movie) would surely achieve that.

As per recent information available with Sikh Siyasat News, at the time of writing this news, the movie was being screened in Supreme Court of India.

“Screening is going on in court no.15” Sadda Haq producers informed to the fans of the movie through a post on Facebook Fans page. “Sach di Jitt Hovegi” (The truth shall be victorious), they expressed the hope through that Facebook post.

Earlier the producers had informed their fans and supporters on late evening of April 25, 2013: “Supreme Court has refused to accept the demand of Punjab govt. to ban the film and after listening to today’s argument with Sadda Haq counsel Colin Gonsalves the Supreme Court has made a committee of five counsels who will watch the movie tomorrow and give their report to the supreme and the Chief Justice will give the decision accordingly”.

“God has a very big plan for SADDA HAQ. All this never happened in the history of Indian Cinema before” reads another Facebook post by the producers of the movie, that is based on the events of post-1984 to mid-1990s in Punjab.

The movie, that was scheduled to be released in Punjab and other states of India on April 05, 2013 was banned by the Punjab government under pressure from high-ups in Punjab police and the bureaucracy, who had watched the movie in Punjab Bhawan on April 04, 2013. It is believed that Punjab police and bureaucracy was worried that the movie could expose their black deeds as the movie is based many true events of that period.

Supreme Court may pronounce it’s final verdict on the petition moved by the producers of the movie for lifting ban imposed by state governments of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Chandigarh.
