SGPC May Rescind Resolution Of Pardon To Gurmeet Ram Rahim

Chandigarh: As per the media reports the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) is planning to table a draft to amend its record regarding the controversial exoneration of Dera Sauda Sirsa chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim  in a blasphemy case.

SGPC president Kirpal Singh Badungar reportedly said that after discussing the case in the upcoming meeting of the interim committee, they would table the draft in the General House meeting scheduled in November.

It is note able that the pardon resolution was put on record on September 29, 2015, amid a protest by some members. The resolution is said to be politically motivated and was passed by the SGPC backed Jatherdars  to pardon the dera chief.
