Sikh Lawyer Releases List Of 19 Sikh Political Prisoners Sentenced To Life Imprisonment

Chandigarh: Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, who maintains the list of Sikh Political Prisoners, released a list of 19 Sikh political prisoners who are undergoing imprisonment for life. The list was released by Advocate Manjhpur on his official Facebook page (Manjhpur & Associates) on March 4, 2018.

The list contains details of Sikh political prisoners and updates about the status of their cases for ‘premature release’.

While talking to Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur said that this list contains names of only those Sikh political prisoners who are undergoing imprisonment for life. He said there are other Sikh political prisoners, who are undergoing sentences other than imprisonment for life or are presently facing or awaiting trials.

He further said that many of these 19 Sikh political prisoners are qualified to get released on premature release and this list also shed light on the status of their cases for premature release.

FULL LIST OF 19 SIKH POLITICAL PRISONERS UNDERGOING IMPRISONMENT FOR LIFE:

Life Sentence on   08-01-1997 in case FIR No. RC/6(S) 92 SIV/V CBI dated 05-08-1992 by the designated TADA Court of Sh. C.K.   Butch, Judge, Ahmadabad (Rural) at Mirjapur, Under Section 3(3) & 5 of TADA, 120-B of IPC, Section 5 of   Explosive Substances Act and section 25 of Arms Act. 1992 to till Date in Maximum   Security Jail, Nabha, Distt. Pataila (Punjab). No other case pending in any court.  Fit   case for Permanent Release.No charge of section 302 (murder) or any other   like section. No explosion occurred. Only recovery of Arms and explosive substances.   File of premature release case is initiated by jail authorities and pending in office of Home Secretary Punjab.

02. Dilbagh Singh S/O Kehar Singh, R/O Village Atalan, Tehsil   Samana, District Patiala.

Life Sentence on   26-02-2007 in case FIR No. 27 dated 09-05-1992 by the TADA Court of Sh. Bhupinder Singh Judge, Nabha, Under Section   302, 382 of IPC, Section 5 of TADA Act. 20-09-1999 to 21-11-2004 and from 26-02-2007 to till Date in Maximum   Security Jail, Nabha, Distt. Pataila (Punjab). No other case pending in any court. Fit   Case for Permanent Release.

03. Balbir Singh @ Bira @ Bhootna S/O Bagh Ram R/O Village Chak Tahliwala @ Maulviwala, District Ferozepur.

Life Sentence on on 29-08-2014 in case FIR No. 123 dated 25-08-2009 by the Court of Sh. Sarabjit Singh Dhaliwal, Additional Sessions Judge, Ludhiana, Under Section 302, 307 of IPC, Section 25 of Arms Act.  Appeal is pending in Punjab and Haryana High Court. In this case wife of Balbir Singh was also arrayed who was acquitted after 5 years custody. 8 other cases of recovery of explosive and arms including murder of Dera Sirsa Premi Lili Sharma at Mansa already acquitted. Total Custody: 25-08-2009 to till Date, Paroles availed. No jail offence. No other case pending in any court of law.

04. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar S/O Balwant Singh, R/O Dialpura Bhai Ka,   District Bathinda.

Life   Sentence in   case FIR No.316 dated 1993, PS Parliament Street, Delhi, U/S 302, 307 326,   120-B IPC and U/S 3 & 4 of the Explosive Substances Act. Case Decided by TADA Court Delhi on 25-08-2001. 19-01-1995   to till Date in Central   Jail, Amritsar (Punjab) One case pending in Ghaziabad   (UP)  (On Bail) Fit   Case for Permanent Release.

Life Sentence 0n   15-12-2001 in case FIR No. 177/1990 by the designated TADA Court Karnatka   Under Section 302, 307, 427, 120B of IPC, Section 3 (2) (1) TADA Act & 3 Explosive, PS Bidar   (Karnatka) 06-12-1990 to till Date in Central   Jail, Amritsar (Punjab). No other case pending in any court. Fit   Case for Permanent Release.

06. Subheg Singh S/O Sh.Sewa Singh, r/o Village Suroon, P.S. Kheri Gandian, Distt.   Patiala.

Life Sentence   in case FIR No. 22/13-02-1995, PS East, Chandigarh, U/S 302, 380, 392 read   with Section 120-B IPC. 1995 to till Date in Central   Jail, Patiala (Punjab). No other case pending in any court.Fit   Case for Permanent Release.
