October 13, 2015 | By

Kotkapura: Sikh sangat has taken strong stance against Beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib at Bargari village on Kotkapura to Bathinda (via Bajakhana) road. Representatives of various Sikh organizations, Sikh pracharaks and religious personalities and local Sikh sangat have reportedly blocked main chowk of Kotkapura. They are demanding strict action against culprits involved in sacrilege of saroop of Guru Granth Sahib at Bargari village.

It is notable that a Saroop of Guru Granth Sahib was taken away from some unknown persons from Jawahar Singh Wala few months back. It was suspected that the saroop was taken away by followers of anti-Sikh dera Sauda Sirsa. Few weeks ago when politically appointed jathedars had granted pardon to Dera Sauda Sirsa chief in 2007 blasphemy case, some unknown persons (believed to be followers of dera Sirsa) had pasted a warning notice outside Gurdwara Sahib in village Jawahar Singh Wala. In this provocative poster it was said that that they would disrespect Guru Granth Sahib. Following this Ang’s of Guru Granth Sahib were found torn village Bargeri yesterday.
