Simranjit Singh Mann Welcomes Accommodation of Kirpan in UK Legislation

Fatehgarh Sahib: Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar (Mann) president and former member of Indian parliament Simranjit Singh Mann has welcomed the accommodation of Kirpan, small as well as 3-ft, in a recently passed legislation by British Parliament. The Bill affecting the possession of weapons, including the bladed objects such as Kirpans, that was passed by the parliament has received ‘Royal Assent’ and became the law.

In a statement issued in Punjabi/Gurmukhi (copy available with Sikh Siyasat News), Simranjit Singh Mann welcomed UK Parliament’s move to accommodate Sikh Kirpan in that legislation and extended thanks to Sikh Federation UK, Cabinet Office Minister Victoria Atkins, MPs Preet Kaur Gill, Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, Pat McFadden and others for their contribution in this regard.
