Resolution Seeking Recognition of 1984 Sikh Genocide Moved in US House of Representatives

On October 25, 2024, US Congressman David G. Valadao (CA-22), co-chair of the Sikh American Congressional Caucus, introduced a resolution to formally recognize and commemorate the Sikh Genocide of 1984. California is home to the largest Sikh population in the U.S., with the majority residing in the Central Valley.

Transnational Repression: Bill Supported by Sikh and Human Rights Groups Introduced in US Congress

On September 19, 2024 United States Representative for California's 30th congressional district Adam Schiff introduced the bipartisan Transnational Repression Reporting Act of 2024 which would require the Attorney General, in coordination with other relevant federal agencies, to submit a report of cases of transnational repression against U.S. citizens or people in the United States.
