The International Sikh Convention organised by the Sikh Federation (UK) will commence tomorrow at Guru Nanak Gurdwara, Smethwick in the West Midlands and is expected to attract over 15,000 Sikhs over the three-day event.
Twenty MPs spoke on April 30 during a 90-minute debate in British Parliament on the Contribution of Sikhs in the England to mark the end of the first ever Sikh Heritage Month.
“The harsh truth is these changes have only been made possible as Preet Kaur Gill MP is now the co-chair of the APPG for International Freedom of Religion or Belief and has pushed for historic injustices and ongoing issues to be mentioned. Previously Lord Singh has been the Vice-Chair and remained silent on the treatment of Sikhs in India and Afghanistan.”
A press conference will take place on Monday 3rd December 2018 at 12pm at the Lecture Theatre of Guru Nanak Gurdwara Smethwick, 128-130 High Street, Smethwick, B66 3AP where the Racially Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of Sikh Girls (R.A.S.E.) report will be released.
