Harinder Malhi who is know for forwarding the cause of moving Sikh 'genocide' motion in Ontario's parliament in April last year, has been given a Cabinet berth,
SGPC chief Kirpal Singh Badungar has objected to Indian government stand against the passing of Sikh Genocide 1984 motion by Ontario parliament.
The historic Sikh Genocide 1984 Motion was passed by Ontario Provincial Parliament on April 6 extending official recognition to the fact of Sikh Genocide of 1984.
Ms. Harinder Malhi while reading out her motion state, “That, in the opinion of this House, the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, should reaffirm our commitment to the values we cherish – justice, human rights and fairness – and condemn all forms of communal violence, hatred, hostility, Racism and intolerance in India and anywhere else in the world, including the 1984 Genocide perpetrated against the Sikhs throughout India, and call on all sides to embrace truth, justice and reconciliation.”
All India Sikh Students Federation (AISSF) has welcomed the move of Ontario provincial Parliament in Canada to pass a motion recognising the Sikh Genocide 1984.
