Vancouver, BC (April 05, 2013): According to the Canadian Sikh Coalition (CSC) the much anticipated Punjabi Film "Sadda Haq" has been banned by the Punjab Government, even after it was passed by the Censor Board and cleared all legal matters via the Supreme Court of India.
Chandigarh, Punjab (April 05, 2013): According to information available with Sikh Siyasat News (SSN) the Punjabi movie Sadda Haq was not released on April 05 in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pardesh.
Chandigarh, Punjab (April 05, 2013): "CM Sahib, at least listen to our point of view", the producers of Sadda Haq Punjabi Movie asked Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal in wake of ban imposed by the Punjab government on the screening of Sadda Haq Punjabi movie that was to hit cinemas on April 05, 2013.
Patiala, Punjab (April 05, 2013): Under pressure from high-ups in Punjab police and the bureaucracy, the Punjab government imposed ban on Sadda Haq Punjabi movie on late evening of April 04, 2013. The movie was scheduled to be released on April 05. In an official statement it was reportedly said that the ban was imposed in order to prevent disturbance of law and order.
Amritsar, Punjab (April 05, 2013): Sikh body, Dal Khalsa, today strongly condemned Punjab government for banning film Sadda Haq on frivolous charges and seek rethinking on it.

Chandigarh/Punjab (April 05, 2013): It is learnt that the Punjab Government led by Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir Badal, has banned Sadda Haq Punjabi film that was termed as a part of Sikh history by Senior Badal Dal leader Bibi Kiranjot Kaur on March 17, 2013 during a special screening.
Sadda Haq, a much awaited Punjabi movie hit cinemas across the globe today. Sadda Haq is an attempt to tell the untold story of painful days of post-1984 to mid-1990s on the cinema screen. The movie's plot is based on events of a period that was never so openly addressed in Indian cinema or by the Indian media.

The movie is scheduled to be releases on April 5.

Vancouver, BC (March 20, 2013): After securing the distribution rights to the film “Sadda Haq” in Canada, the Canadian Sikh Coalition (CSC) is seeing a wave of support from communities across Canada in regards to the film that was initially banned by the controversial Indian Censor Board. The film is a revealing and truthful account of the period of militancy in Punjab that spanned the 1980s and 1990s. It brings forward the conditions of the Punjab and its population and role of the central government in orchestrating what would be a genocidal campaign against the Sikh population.

Through the eyes of one man's experiences, this film provides insight into the complex political and social atmosphere of Punjab in the 1980s.
Ludhiana, Punjab (February 12, 2013): It is learnt that "Proud to be Sikh" is an upcoming movie that is is based on the life of a gursikh professor who comes to India with lots of aspirations and feelings for his heritage and culture, as he had to leave the country during 1984.
Vancouver, BC (February 13, 2013): The Canadian Sikh Coalition is proud to announce that it has formed a partnership with the team behind the film “Sada Haq” and will be the official distributor for the film in Canada.
