Bhai Gurmej Singh awarded fellowship for transliterating Guru Granth Sahib in Braille script

Patiala, Punjab (October 18, 2013): It is learnt that the department of Gurmat Sangeet of Punjabi University, Patiala has awarded Bibi Jasbir Kaur Khalsa fellowship to Bhai Gurmej Singh, Hazoori Ragi of Darbar Sahib, for translating the entire Sri Guru Granth Sahib into Braille script.

Five member panel to re-write Sikh history – decides Shiromani Committee (SGPC)

Amritsar, Punjab (January 18, 2013): As per reprots the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has decided to get Sikh history re-written following research in this regard. As per information the SGPC has constituted a five-member committee, including Punjabi University, Patiala Vice-Chancellor Dr Jaspal Singh and historian Dr J. S. Grewal. SGPC Secretary Roop Singh will be the co-ordinator of the panel.
