Ludhiana (November 22, 2009): A news reported by a prominent daily of India, The Hindu, says that on the eve of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s arrival in the U.S., different advocacy, human rights groups, networks and Sikh organisations, have put up a coordinated campaign across North America and Europe to expose the denial of justice to the thousands of victims of the November 1984 anti-Sikh carnage.
Ludhiana/US (November 19, 2009): It is learnt from a news-letter sent by Sikhs for Justice via email to SikhSiyasat Network that Amnesty International USA on November 18, 2009 has urged the US President Mr. Barack Obama to candidly address human rights concerns in India during your upcoming meeting with the Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh and to press him to make substantive improvements.
Ludhiana/New Delhi (November 12, 2009): Sikh leaders on 11 November, 2009 met Ms Shalini Dewan, Director, United Nations Information Centre at New Delhi for 15 minutes and urged the UN to intervene as India has denied justice to victims of Nov 1984 anti-Sikh carnage.
Washington/Ludhiana (November 07, 2009): To remind the world and the American Government about the continued denial of justice to victims and survivors of the November 1984 Sikh genocide, more than 1,500 supporters marched on November 04, 2009 from Lafayette Park to Capitol Hill, Sunday, November 1, to mark the 25th anniversary of the massacre of more than 30,000 Sikhs in 18 states and 110 cities across India.

A Washington-based lobbyist for the Sikh cause Friday condemned the recent arrests of Sikh leaders, including Daljit Singh Bittu, in Indian Punjab, saying his people will not be deterred by the state repression to fight for their independence.

Sikhs for Justice condemns the visit of India’s Union Minister for Road and Transport, presently in United States to meet with World Bank officials and other financiers in an effort to attract investors. In a statement sent to SikhSiyasat Network attorney Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, legal advisor for Sikhs for Justice, said that Minister Kamal Nath was indicted by a high ranking investigative commission on allegations that he led a mob that killed Sikhs during a November 1984 massacre that followed the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
