US: Georgia House of Representatives Recognises Vaisakhi as ‘Universal Brotherhood Day’

Atlanta: In United States of America (USA), the State of Georgia has recognised the Vaisakhi (14 April, 2019) as Universal Brotherhood Day. Georgia’s House of Representatives passed House Resolution no. 731 on March 28, 2019 to this effect. The resolution was moved by representatives Davis of 87th and Mitchell of the 88th.
“The whole purpose of this proclamation is to spreads the Guru Nanak’s message of Universal Brotherhood recognised by the world. Starting next year, the supporters of Guru Nanak’s message of Universal Brotherhood, plan to proclaim the fourth Saturday of April as the Universal Brotherhood day and plan to make it an annual event. ” said Gulbarg Singh Basi of American Sikhi Education & Empowerment Network (ASEEN).
